Ayers rock/uluru is important to the Aboriginal people because it is sacred to them. Uluru is a place that the aboriginals dream about in the spirit and dream world, it is a place were they believe there body of there ancestors go after they die and they believe that they harden into rock. It was there at the dawning time of the Aborigines and will be there to the end of there time. for the central Australian aborigines the dream time story's come out of uluru. The aborigines ask people not to walk on it because they are walking over there ancestors and that they are walking over the dream time path.
They also don't like people to walk on the rock because when people walk over uluru it corrodes and eventually it will be gone.
